Welcome to Vineyard Community Center!
Vineyard Community Center's LAUNCH Program began with a simple question. We already have an outstanding early childhood program for infants through pre-schoolers and an acclaimed after-school program for kindergarten through 8th grade. So what about high schoolers? LAUNCH is the next logical step as we seek to end generational cycles of poverty, reverse the breakdown of families, and equip people for lives of dignity, grace, and significance.
In 2011, Vineyard Community Center expanded our youth education services to include high school youth through LAUNCH: Life Readiness for High Schoolers. Our vision for LAUNCH encompasses on-going assessments and advising for college and non-college tracks, life skills training, academic support, employment support and job skills training. Our program works to foster students' God-given creative talent, emphasize the importance of giving and volunteering, and provide avenues for students' spiritual development.
In a nutshell, our program embraces a holistic approach with high school youth through classroom activities, service projects and experiential learning that equips them with the tools and knowledge to:
The LAUNCH Program is available for youth, 9th-12th grade, September through May on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:30-6pm.
- Succeed in high school (academic skills, tutoring)
- Prepare for the future (college and career advising, job training, budgeting)
- Develop relational skills (healthy friendships/dating, conflict resolution)
- Cultivate leadership skills and volunteerism
- Experience life (Cultural Events, Internships, Yoga/TRX, etc.)
- Encounter Christ (Spiritual Development, Small Group, FUSION)
